Bobbie Cotten first committed
to a contract with the Cobras before the season, but did not sign until
July 6, after he had finished his degree in sociology at N.C. State.
In his first AFL game at Arizona, he caught a 15-yard screen pass and made
a tackle on defense. Against New Jersey the next week, he was held
to –1 yards rushing but scored his first AFL touchdown on a four-yard run
and caught another screen pass for 17 yards before a broken foot ended
his short season.

for the Wolfpack...Started all 12 games in 1998 at defensive end, finishing
with 37 tackles, three sacks and nine pressures...Blocked a Maryland field
goal that was returned for a touchdown...Led N.C. State as a junior with
three fumble recoveries...Career totals were 152 tackles, 12 sacks, two
forced fumbles, three fumble recoveies, and an interception
